A Rant About Petalburgshipping v.s Contestshipping(?)

Hi people! Wish here with another rant. Now, I have to warn you, this one probably won't be as good as my 4Kids rant. But I have a feeling it's going to be at least okay. So here goes.

You know how a lot of people support Contestshipping (I have a feeling those people are Pokéshippers, in particular)? Well, I'm not one of those people. I'm actually one of the few Petalburgshippers that are actually alive on this planet!

...Okay. Maybe that's an exaggeration. Sure, a lot of Americans support Contestshipping. In fact, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that more than 50% of Americans are Contestshippers. (I'm not actually sure about that, I'm just making a guess.) Though something tells me that there are more Petalburgshippers in Japan.

Ahem, anyway, back to the point. Those of you Contestshippers out there who are reading this are gonna be in for a heartbreak when you read on and realize that Contestshipping isn't canon. In fact, there are more Petalburgshipping hints than there are Contestshipping hints.

First of all, I'd like to point out that just because May and Max are related, doesn't mean they can't be together. Ever heard of something called "brotherly (or sisterly) love?" That's exactly what's happening in Petalburgshipping. I mean, sure, unfortunately for PS supporters, they can't get married unless it's actually legal for siblings to get married, but the feeling is still there. Score one for PS...? Erm...*otl*

Though there are still a ton of good hints. May and Drew may have had their own episode together, but did they tell each other that they love each other? Nooo. Though May and Max did at one point. It was in "Take This House and Shuppet." Watch it and weep, if you know what I mean.

Have May and Drew ever held hands? I don't think so. Though - you guessed it - May and Max have. The episode is "Queen of the Serpentine," I think. That's a bigger hint than you think. The only time I ever hold my younger brother's hand is when crossing the street with him, or when my parents ask me to, and I'd be surprised to know any siblings from this decade that hold hands free of their own will. So that says something about Petalburgshipping.

Also (and this is coming out of me without a reference), in Max's debut episode, "There's No Place Like Hoenn", at the end, Max says since Ash obviously knows nothing about Pokémon, he should tag along with May and Ash. Now of course, the two of them are like "What?!" at first. Very typical of an anime. But, if Petalburgshipping wasn't canon, May would've bent over backwards trying to convince her parents to make Max stay. Though she just went along with it as soon as her parents said it would help if Max went with her and Ash. Doesn't that sound like a hint to you?

Oh, and did I mention they hug? And I mean, like, a lot. Once in "Pokémon Jirachi Wishmaker", once in "Do I Hear a Ralts," once in "Island Time," once in "Date Expectations," once in "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew," once in "Take the Lombre Home," once in "Ready, Willing, and Sabelye," once in "A Meditite Fight," once in "Pokémon Ranger: Deoxys Crisis pt. 2," and in a few other episodes. Don't all these hugs tell you something? Sorry, Contestshippers. May and Drew just don't hug. Period.

So, uh, sorry to have broken the hearts of any Contestshippers who happen to be my friends. But to the other random Contestshippers out there: sorry to break it to you, but it just isn't canon. Bye~!

-Wish
Proof that Contestshipping isn't canon.

Most of the info was given to me by Ami-Chan. Thanks, shinyu~!
